Register for the 20th Annual All Church Family Camp at Camp Emmanuel in Astoria, Illinois, Memorial Day weekend, May 25-27, 2013. A sign-up sheet is on-line and on the bulletin board outside the Church Office. Camp Emmanuel is a lovely, quiet area with a fishing lake, plenty of room to walk, play, and most importantly, fellowship with a variety of ages. The center of activity is the Lodge building. There is a Chapel upstairs where we have Sunday morning Worship, and downstairs is the kitchen, dining hall, and activity room. The activity room is the site of non-stop ping-pong tournaments, and late night games and conversation with plenty of popcorn and other goodies.
Lodging consists of spaces (with hook-ups) for campers or tents, rustic bunkhouses & cabins (you will need to bring your own bedding). You may like the sound of the food, fun, and fellowship, but not the bunkhouses and communal shower house — well, that’s OK. Join us on Sunday (after worshiping in Quincy), take a pleasant drive to Astoria for the afternoon. Fish, hike, play horseshoes, or just visit — then join us for supper (cost: Adults-$5.00/Children-$3.00) and vespers around the campfire outdoors, (or inside the lodge in front of the fireplace if it should rain).
