We asked the friends and worshippers at Central Baptist Church: “WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR CHURCH?” The response was overwhelming! Read what people love about Central Baptist Church of Quincy, Illinois:

All my prayer warriors’ friends. The good music and good choir. Our positive attitude of Rev. Greuter. Our Sunday school class. Mary Anastas

Barbara Hutchens-Bugh – for first inviting me to Central.

Bible study, friendly members, caring pastor, fellowship (Chuppers), and music.

Central Baptist Church has been my life for over 80 years.

Central Baptist Church is a beautiful place to worship God. Gill

Christ’s presence, Pastor Ivan, Rexanne, Jessa, Macy, and David. Prayer Group at Nata’s, Choir, the feeling of love and caring as you walk through the doors. Our Shepherd window.

Co-Builders Class, Sunday School Teachers with their knowledge of the word and ability to put it on a simple level of lecturing.

Concerns and thoughtfulness of our church family in times of need.

Fellowship – It has been and is so important to me. I treasure all my memories of friends and fun I have made.

From the onset of our marriage and for the past 50 years, Ken and Bonnie Bigelow have been our inspiration to us and our spiritual life.
Most certainly Ivan Greuter has been there for us when the chips were down and created a path for us to follow.

I want to thank my son, Peter McManus for introducing me to Central Baptist in 1996. Lois McManus

Love Bible study, Fellowship with Christians, and Men’s prayer breakfast.

Margaret and Jim Mealiff – Margaret for her music; Jim for counting the offering.

Marilyn Smith continues to be an inspiration in the way she is always o the leading edge of serving others, whether it is by cooking meals, visiting shut-ins, the bereaved, etc, etc. She is “There”, giving of her time and many talents.

Mrs. Eber taught my Sunday school class and gave me a Bible before entering the U.S. Navy. I still have the Bible and her note she wrote to me.
“God Bless all of these people.”

My favorite thing about Central Baptist Church is that we have a pastor with a great sense of humor! We all know that our religion is the most important thing in the world, but our pastor makes it a fun thing too.

My Grandma Allen and my wife Mildred Allen. Gib Allen

My mother, husband of 58 years (Gib Allen), Mary Lock, Dot Mahla, and Barb Klocke. Millie Allen

My Sunday school class.

Nata Selves – Her devotion to prayer and love of others.

Our love for Central began in 1968. As newcomers, we wanted a church family where we could find our dearest and closest friends. A place where the Bible was spoken in Truth! Friends we could laugh, cry, sing, work, study, play, worship, and pray together with as we celebrated the joy of our Salvation. Forty-three years have passed. Central Baptist Church has been all of these to us! Harold and Ruth Willis

Pastor Ivan – his Bible teachings

Pastor Ivan – his leadership and teaching.

Pastor Ivan – His wisdom in the Word and his sense of humor.

Pastor Ivan – who teaches us all from the Bible and by his example.

Pastor Ivan’s sermons, members of the congregation, enjoying Chuppers and Bible study, and all the talented musicians of Central. Praise God for all the Church members and all the special beautiful music (solos, duets, etc.).

Pastor’s message, music, and Sunday school class.

People who have made a difference in my life: Pastor Ivan and Pastor John Garver. Mary

People who have made a difference in my life: Pastor Ivan, Dottie Randall (What a “prayer” warrior she is!), Marilyn Smith and Francis Trantor (these two ladies are a picture of commitment). Wayne

Rexanne – Her understanding of the music she chooses and the messages they give.

Rexanne Greuter – her music ability and thoughtfulness of needs and concerns

Roger Selves – His obvious love for the Lord and his commitment to sharing that love through the Chaplain’s progress.

Salvation is preached through the blood of Jesus. Friendliness and my Sunday school class.

Special music, fellowship, preaching of the Word, Sunday school, Bible study, and Chuppers.

Sunday school – I love Bible study and the interaction.

The Church Family feeling – loving, caring, reaching out – sermons, Bible studies, everything – Spirit filled.

The main thing I like about our church is our pastor; his sense of humor, his great sermons, and that he is a very caring person. We also have a great congregation.

The Ushers – I feel welcome when I see them.

The whole package: music, sermon, children’s church, friendly people. Millie

There are many things to love at Central Baptist Church: (1) I love Pastor Ivan and his precious family. We are so blessed. (2) The warm and caring and caring spirit of the members shines. (3) I love Sunday school where I’ve learned so much from “The Word” and my excellent teacher. (4) Beautiful music and all who make it possible; and (5) The children, Bible study, fellowship, and Chuppers. I could go on and on. I just love our church. I am happy to be a member.

To all of the teachers in the Co-builder’s class; you’re great!

To Ivan for being a great Pastor!

To Joyce Kuhl for living such a great role model.

Wayne Lock – my excellent Sunday school teacher.

We are so blessed to have a great minister like Ivan and his wife Rexanne for al they do. I am also blessed with a wonderful Sunday school teacher, Becky Fox. She is one special lady! I am thankful for many good friends, especially Russ and Judy Daniels who gives me rides to church on Sunday mornings. I enjoy going to a beautiful church like Central Baptist and have been a member since 1947. Praise God!

Worship – Many important decisions in my life w4ere made because of the wonderful messages when God spoke to me.

Worship service and the people.

You have influenced my life with your Bible knowledge which you share in class, etc. For years I have also observed you living a Christian life. Bonnie Bigelow

I love my Lord’s house, that is full Of Christian friends who are led by IVan, God’s Servant, who spiritually Encourages all of us to love, give and walk with our Lord.
