Mrs. Eber taught my Sunday school class and gave me a Bible before entering the U.S. Navy. I still have the Bible and her note she wrote to me.

My favorite thing about Central Baptist Church is that we have a pastor with a great sense of humor! We all know that our religion is the most important thing in the world, but our pastor makes it a fun thing too.

Our love for Central began in 1968. As newcomers, we wanted a church family where we could find our dearest and closest friends. A place where the Bible was spoken in Truth! Friends we could laugh, cry, sing, work, study, play, worship, and pray together with as we celebrated the joy of our Salvation. Forty-three years have passed. Sunday school – I love Bible study and the interaction.
The Church Family feeling – loving, caring, reaching out – sermons, Bible studies, everything – Spirit filled.
The main thing I like about our church is our pastor; his sense of humor, his great sermons, and that he is a very caring person. We also have a great congregation.
The Ushers – I feel welcome when I see them.

There are many things to love at Central Baptist Church: (1) I love Pastor Ivan and his precious family. We are so blessed. (2) The warm and caring and caring spirit of the members shines. (3) I love Sunday school where I’ve learned so much from “The Word” and my excellent teacher. (4) Beautiful music and all who make it possible; and (5) The children, Bible study, fellowship, and Chuppers. I could go on and on. I just love our church. I am happy to be a member.

We are so blessed to have a great minister like Ivan and his wife Rexanne for al they do. I am also blessed with a wonderful Sunday school teacher, Becky Fox. She is one special lady! I am thankful for many good friends, especially Russ and Judy Daniels who gives me rides to church on Sunday mornings. I enjoy going to a beautiful church like Central Baptist and have been a member since 1947. Praise God!
Worship – Many important decisions in my life w4ere made because of the wonderful messages when God spoke to me.

Free Ride to Church on Bus

Sunday morning bus transportation is available for the 8:30 a.m. service. Mr. Kevin Wellman drives a van to pick-up children and youth for worship and Sunday school. The children sit in the pews with their parents, or they sit with Shirley R. and the Wellmans. Kevin and John David H. return the children to their homes after the Sunday school hour. Please call Kevin at 217-885-3661to schedule transportation. Rides to and from the Church are free, and open to the public.

Raise the Roof Campaign

The Church has almost reached it goal of $45,000.00 to to replace the flat roof over the Educational Wing of the Church. We have received $37,401.20 for the Raise the Roof Campaign. The final bid was $45,000.00. Work will begin soon. Please give a special give above-and-beyond your Tithe to the Raise the Roof fund! Please mark your gifts to the “Roof Fund;” not “building fund” (which helps maintain the building). Special envelopes are available for your donations.

2012 Budget Requests

It is time to start preparing the 2012 Budget. The Trustees request that all church officers, the chair of each ministry, auxiliaries and chartered organizations, along with all members and staff, make their budget requests for 2012 in writing before the Trustees meeting on Tuesday, September 13 at 7:00 p.m. Please submit your requests to Lynn Sprick, Chair of the Ministry of Trustees. The Church Office will provide budget worksheet upon request.
