The Quincy are Alzheimer’s Association’s 15th annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s that will take place at 6pm Thursday, September 1st in Clat Adams Park. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s disease affects not only the patient, but their family, friends, caregivers, and church families are affected as well. The Walk is our opportunity to show our love and support for all those suffering from the disease. You are welcome to register online and start building your team at the Quincy walk’s homepage or I can drop off a team recruiting folder with information and paper registration forms and cards. I would be happy to help answer any questions and help get your team registered for the walk. Please let me know if I can assist you in any way.

Join radio station WGCA FM 88.5 “the Mix” and the Christian Ministries Fellowship on Thursday, May 5 at Quincy City Hall, 730 Maine Street, at 6:30 p.m. for the 60th annual National Day of Prayer 2011. Since 1952, the National Day of Prayer has been a powerful reminder of our need to kneel before God’s throne in the public square – regardless of cultural and denominational differences. The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. The Task Force is a privately funded organization whose purpose is to encourage participation on the National Day of Prayer. It exists to communicate with every individual the need for personal repentance and prayer, to create appropriate materials, and to mobilize the Christian community to intercede for America’s leaders and its families. The Task Force represents a Judeo Christian expression of the national observance, based on our understanding that this country was birthed in prayer and in reverence for the God of the Bible. Discover more information at www.nationaldayofprayer.org.
