]]> http://www.cbcquincy.org/2009/12/03/2009-written-annual-reports/feed/ 0 Being Church for All Generations http://www.cbcquincy.org/2009/04/20/being-church-for-all-generations/ http://www.cbcquincy.org/2009/04/20/being-church-for-all-generations/#comments Mon, 20 Apr 2009 19:49:04 +0000 Ivan http://www.cbcquincy.org/?p=956 Can a church reach people under 40 while keeping people over 60?  Author and seminar leader, Dr. Eddie Hammett, will present a special “Being Church for All Generations” workshop on Thursday, May 28 at the First Baptist Church of Bloomington, Illinois.  The seminar begins at 10:00 am to 4:00 p.m.  Dr. Hammett is the author of four books dealing with how the church can be prepared for more effective ministry in the 21st century.  Central Baptist will pay the $30.00 fee for each leader from Central Baptist – which includes lunch, notebook and one copy of Hammett’s book, “How to Reach People Under 40 While Keeping People Over 60.”  Register with Dave Smith before May 17 if you are able to attend.  David and Diana Smith will lead the group from Central Baptist, Quincy.

We conducted a Natural Church Development survey of thirty randomly selected attenders to find our minimum factor or “weakest area of church life.” The survey revealed our minimum factor was Gift-Oriented Ministry . For a year, we focused on helping members discover and use their spiritual gifts.

It is now time to conduct a new survey to:

  1. Follow up our efforts to improve Gift-Oriented Ministry
  2. Look ahead with excitement where God will help us become healthy in a new area of our church life.

The Church Health Team will meet Tuesday, November 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the Church Parlor.  Please pray for the Church Health Team and the thirty persons who will be randomly selected to take the next NCD survey.
