Make a Reservation for the Youth Valentine Banquet Fundraiser

The annual Youth Valentine Banquet, ‘A Night in Paris,’ will be on Saturday, February 11, 2012. Reservations will be taken on a first come first serve basis, January 29 and February 5, after first service in the Heritage Room. Or you may call Cindy Brown at 217-223-5175. The seating times are 5:00 p.m. (full) and 6:30 p.m. Please select pork or chicken when making your reservations. Thank you. Proceeds help the youth attend Young Christians Weekend at Silver Dollar City.

Children’s Christmas Program

The children are beginning to practice this year’s Christmas program. All children are welcome to join us as we practice the music and parts for the program on Sunday mornings after the 8:30 service and before Sunday school. Most of the children have been given a CD of the music for the program. If your child did not receive a CD, please let Rexanne Greuter know. The children’s Sunday school Christmas program, A Bunch of Gifts for Christmas (by Cathy Skogen-Soldner), will be held on Sunday, December 18, at 6:00 p.m. in the sanctuary at Central Baptist Church.

Bible in 90 Days Church Wide Challenge

CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE WHO FINISHED the Church Wide Challenge to read the Bible in 90 Days. Hopefully, God revealed new knoweldge as you study His word, and you have a greater appreciation for Scripture. Please do NOT discard your Participants Guides – as you can use them again to read the Bible from cover to cover in the future. New groups can start in January – resources are available. Pastor Ivan

Youth SKWIM Trip 2012

The SKWIM trip is set for January 13 – 16, 2012. SKWIM is a ski retreat designed to create a shared experience between students and adults. The church hopes that our group will have a great time, experience God in a unique way through worship and teaching, and grow closer to one another through the activities and group time together. Middle school, high school and college students are welcome to attend! SKWIM happens thanks to the support of the American Baptist Churches of the Great Rivers Region, all churches and denominations are welcome to participate. Registration packets are available from Rev. Cedric Allen, Youth Minister. The registration and deposit deadline is in the Church Office before Wednesday, November 30.
