The Apostle Paul instructed his churches that “everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way” (1 Corinthians 14:40).  The Congregation adopted the following Constitution and Bylaws, called the Ordained Ministers, and elected leaders to govern matters  pertaining to the Kingdom of God in a “fitting and orderly way.”

ORDAINED CLERGY

GreuterThe Rev. Ivan E. Greuter, Senior Minister: A native of Nebraska, Pastor Ivan grew up on the Great Plains  and received his call to the ministry at an early age.  After graduating with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Ottawa University, he earned the Master of Arts in Theology and Master of Divinty degrees at Northern Baptist Theological Seminary before being ordained in 1999.  He is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Ministry degree in Missional Spirituality at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary, Iowa.  Ivan previously served the First Baptist Church of Wood River, Illinois before joining the staff at Central Baptist Church in 2006.  Rexanne, his wife, and Ivan have three children – two girls and a boy  – and twenty-two backyard chickens.  OFFICE HOURS: Monday thru Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; other time by appointment.  Email: pastor@cbcquincy.org.

The Rev. Cedric Allen, Youth Minister – Cedric Allen is a native of Louisville, Kentucky and grew up in Des Moines, Iowa.  He is the son of Rev. Doris Allen-Pratt.  At the age of 11, he accepted Christ and was baptized at the Corinthian Baptist Church in Des Moines, Iowa. He is married to Cathy and has one step-daughter, Miranda.  He is a 1986 graduate of Herbert Hoover High school where he is located in the Hall of Fame for All-state Track and Field honors.  After serving five years in the United States Army, He answered his call to the ministry after he received an Honorable Discharge. In 1992 he preached his first sermon and was licensed to preach by the Corinthian Baptist Church, Des Moines, Iowa under the pastorage of Rev. Dr. C.L. Stallworth.  He has served offices in the Central District Association and the Iowa Missionary and Educational Baptist State Convention.  In addition, he also served as an Associate Minister, Youth Minister, Assistant Pastor and Pastor in the cities of Des Moines, Ottumwa and Waterloo Iowa.  In 2008, he relocated to Quincy, Illinois and joined the First Baptist Church where he was Ordained.  In 2010, He and his wife transferred their membership to Central Baptist Church.  He is a Cum Laude Graduate of Upper Iowa University, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education, and a certified Computer Software Instructor.    He has been elected and appointed to serve in local chapter, district and state offices and a national committee of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.  He is a member of the Unity#16 Masonic Lodge. In his spare times, he loves studying the Word of God, listening to music, playing card and computer games, and spending time with family, and friends.   Email: cedric@cbcquincy.org.
