Worship Services

SATURDAYS – 6:30 p.m. Ancient Modern Worship – This free style servce blends elements from the past two thousand years of worship experience in a hands-on postmodern participatory service.  The musical style is a mixture of classical, contemporary, traditional hymns, praise, African spiritual and taize styles.  The goal is for individuals to participate in the service by reading scriptures, writing prayers, composing music, singing, painting, etc.  The service is held in the imtimate surroundings of Central’s Chapel.  Communion is served by intinctuion the first weekend of each month.  We are currently studying, “40 Ways to Pray: Finding Your Way to the Presences of God.”  The services will teach a new Chrsitian prayer technique each week, including Lectio Divina, Chaplet Prayers, meditation, and more.

SUNDAYS – 8:30 a.m. Traditional Worship - The Traditional service is a more formal, classical service expressing historical elements: call to worship, responsive readings, acolytes, lay worship leaders, organ and traditional hymns, chancel choir, special music, instruments, doxology, Lord’s prayer, children’s sermon, mission moments, handbell choirs, and more.  The Lord’s Supper is observed the first Sunday of each month, served by our Deacons and Deaconesses.
