A little news from Wendy (Central Baptist’s Missionary to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Africa) – please keep her in your prayers, and THANK YOU all for all your support!!
We’re near the end of the school year, with graduation coming up on June 27. On the 8th of July, I’ll be leaving for a week of True Love Waits seminars in two cities, west on Kimpese.
I’m in Kinshasa for the weekend, and tonight (Saturday) we’re going to a South African chicken restaurant for supper where we’ll watch the US-UK soccer game in the world cup tournament. The restaurant is all decorated with South African colors, flags of world cup countries, and lots of soccer balls!
Tomorrow, I’ll be going back to Kimpese and preaching at a mission station called Sona Bata on the way. I’m with the family of retired missionaries Charles and Jeannette Stuart; their two children Charlie and Patricia (who is a pastor) are visiting. “Tricia” was born at Sona Bata, and this is the first time she’s been back to see her birth place! She’s over 40 now!
Shalom,
Wendy
