Is email the best method for communicating important information to the congregation? Electronic mail is quick and easy, but is it effective? Not always! I have found that only thirty-eight percent of the members of Central Baptist who receive email updates and newsletters from me open their mail according to statistical information from MailChimp.com. Since January 1, I have used the free email marketing services of MailChimp to send and track electronic information sent to the congregation. What have I learned? Surprisingly, persons who attend worship less frequently were more likely to open their electronic newsletters and announcements. So, I must ask: How can I improve our information systems at Central Baptist Church? How can I share important ministry updates, service projects and announcements with our members, friends and visitors? Please send me your ideas: pastor@cbcquincy.org.
