You are by now surely aware that Sunday, October 4, 2009 is Consecration Sunday for our congregation. Consecration Sunday is our annual stewardship education and celebration service, when members and friends of Central Baptist Church consecrate their financial pledges for the coming year. This is a special services since it is the only time of year that we seriously ask the question: What percentage of my income is God calling me to give through Central Baptist Church?
The program emphasis the “need of the giver to give” as an expression of their living relationship with God, instead of the ”need of the church to receive funds for the budget.” We all know: giving is a spiritual issue, not a financial matter. God is the giver of all good things! How we answer the question: What percentage of my income is God calling me to give through Central Baptist Church?, expresses our faith and convictions in our Giving God.
I hope you will be able to join us for two special events on October 4, 2009: Sunday morning worship and the Celebration Luncheon immediately following the 11:00 a.m. worhsip. This is a special, catered meal, so we need reseravations for each person. Our goal is to have every member and regular worship attendee present. No one will call on persons in their homes to solicitate donations, secure pledges or make special financial requests. I truly believe people are motivated to give out of their love for the Lord!
If you did not make a reservation, please let us know that you will be present by completing the reservation form below. The effectiveness of your spiritual growth, and the church church’s mission and ministry next year, depends on your initiative and dedication.
Individauls and couples who will be absent on Consecration Sunday because of vacations, planned trips or other commitments, can complete a Pledge Card by contacting the Church Office. Completed cards will be kept confidential and dedicated with other Pledge Cards on Consecration Sunday. The Church Office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
