"Bringing People In! Lifting People Up! Sending People Out!"

Prayer Request for Global Impact Churches

August 12th, 2009

Greetings from the offices of the Baptist World Alliance on this Wednesday, August 12th. We greet you as Baptists who are equal partners, gathering with one another at Christ’s table.

Here are two prayer points for your congregation for:

  1. Thousands hurting in Nigeria due to religious sectarian violence. These latest struggles in late July were between militant Islamic groups and security forces. The bloodshed cost over 800 lives in the northeast part of the nation. Please join with others in the BWA to pray for Nigerian Baptists who are trying to minister courageously in this struggle.
  2. Baptist leaders such as Valeriu Ghiletchi of Moldova. This versatile man, now president of the European Baptist Federation, has a background in engineering, ministry, and politics. He was elected to the Moldovan parliament in April and is the only evangelical in the opposition party. Pray that legions of Christians such as Valeriu will influence the culture and politics of the entire world.

Also, your prayers make a difference for resident Baptist Christians and their harvest fields in our focus countries of the week —  Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia

As always, through the power of prayer, thank you for coming alongside your brothers and sisters in Christ around the world.
