Do you have time to serve the Lord? Do you have a passion for God’s kingdom? Do you want to make a positive impact in a person’s life? We are looking for volunteers to serve as a:
- AWANA Worker - Work with children in grades preschool through six grade on Wednesday nights during AWANA Bible Club. Volunteers listen to children memorize Scriptures, play games, serve snacks, monitor the halls and other duties. Adults working with children must clear a background check (no cost to volunteer). See Adina Butler, Director of Children’s Ministry for more details.
- Greeter – Volunteers welcome visitors and members to worship with a smiling face and a hearty handshake, on a rotating schedule. Visitors are directed to the nursery and restrooms, if needed. This is an excellent opportunity for people with the spiritual gift of Hospitality.
- Nursery Workers – Volunteers assist our paid staff in the nursery by playing with children, rocking newborns and providing unconditional love. Volunteers are not expected to change diapers but they must clear a background check (no cost to volunteer). This is a great service opportunities for seniors and persons with the spiritual gift of Helps.
- Scripture Reader - Readers share the Word of God during the Traditional worship service on Sundays, on a rotating schedule. The Church Office contacts the reader with the assigned text a week in advance so the reader can practice. The reading is clearly printed in the bulletin, along with the reader’s name. This is a great opportunity for persons with the spiritual gift of “Teaching, Preaching or Prophecy.”
- Worship Leader - Do you like to pray in public? The Worship Leader speaks to God on behalf of the congregation during the Invocation, Offertory and Closing prayers. Volunteers can write out their prayers, pray spontaneously or ask for the Pastor for written prayers. Charlie Husted tries to recruit enough worship leaders so individuals service one time each year. This is a wonderful opportuinty for persons with the spiritual gift of “Prayer.”
