Prayer Requests for Baptist World Alliance Global Impact Church Leaders

July 22nd, 2009

Greetings from the offices of the Baptist World Alliance on this Wednesday, July 22nd. We greet you as Baptists who are equal partners, gathering with one another at Christ’s table.

Here are two prayer points for your congregation:

1) that we celebrate God’s work with our Slovak and Hungarian Baptist friends which started centuries ago. Pastor Tomas Kriskaof Bratislava noted that although tensions have existed between these countries, the Gospel has remained “a solid foundation for both sides.” Pray that the Good News will continue to alleviate tensions found across all the borders in the world.

2) that we celebrate God’s sweeping work of 400 years of Baptist life, begun in Amsterdam. This week, the European Baptist Federation (a regional fellowship of the BWA) will host a large rally in that Dutch city. Leaders will come from such places as Bulgaria, Hungary, Britain, Estonia, Moldova, and Germany. Pray that all the workshops and worship will have a powerful impact to glorify Christ.

Also, your prayers make a difference for resident Baptist Christians and their harvest fields in our focus countries of the week—

Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico

As always, through the power of prayer, thank you for coming alongside your brothers and sisters in Christ around the world.
