The Board of Deacons and Deaconesses has agreed to partner with area churches to sponsor a Soup Kitchen at St. John Episcopal Church. The Salvation Army will supply to the food, the Episcopal Church will hire a trained Cook to prepare and serve the food in their facility if area churches will supply three volunteers each day. Central Baptist will sponsor the Soup Kitchen on Fridays beginning July 18. The Diaconate and Board of Missions will donate $200.00 a month from the Fellowship Offering and Undesignated mission funds for the remaining six months of 2008 to hire the Cook on Fridays. Dee Smith, chair of Deaconesses, will be Central Baptist’s coordinator for this ministry project. Persons willing to volunteer three-hours (11:00 am to 2:00 p.m.) can sign up in the Church Office or email: pastor@cbcquincy.org.
